New Years 2016, Outdoor Adventure

Updated: Aug 19, 2020

Bass Lake

I started 2016 off with a bang, going on a #mountain retreat with a group of my closes #adventure buddies to Bass Lake in the #Yosemite area for the weekend. Our #cabin was cozy and quaint with an outdoor hot tub, bbq range, and fire place. The cabin was surrounded by short wooded snowy trails to #Bass #Lake. We attempted to fish in the lake but the fish didn't seem to want to bite that day. Maybe it was the music we had blasting in the background, it wasn't very "catchy".

I brought my new Merrell Women's Fluorecein Mid waterproof #hiking boots on the trip with me and they kept me warm and dry in the snow and water. For those of you that are looking for hiking boots that don't have that clunky boot feel, these are perfect. It fits and feels like an athletic shoe and has the traction and comfort of a hiking boot. I bought a half size bigger than what I normally would wear so that I could wear thick socks with them and it fit just right.

We got to spend a lot of time with each other in the cabin, playing games, eating, and enjoying each other's company. It's always nice to start the new year with your loved ones. I brought along this board game called Pie Face and it was a blast. Each person gets to spin the wheel to see how many spins of the handle you get. The number on the wheel corresponds to the number of spins you spin hoping not to trigger the release of the pie hand of whip cream to your face.

I was so lucky!!

I hope the new year renews a sense of exploring and discovery in you. Here's to more adventures in 2016!
