Every #trip through the Eastern Sierras has to end with a visit to one of the many #hotsprings around the area. If you find yourselves up Route 395, take a therapeutic detour to #Travetine Hot Springs. We were able to find an off-the-beaten path #camp spot near the hot springs and camped, then enjoyed a dip into pools the next day. Though Travertine is a fairly well known and popular spot for hot-springers, there are times when you’ll find the thermal baths and mountain views yours alone. Those are the magic times.

We met a #traveling #nomad at the hot spring and he was not shy about "exposing" to us the many hidden #pools that are scattered around the area that you have to do some exploring to get to. Clothing is optional.

The view of the beautiful surrounding Eastern Sierras as you sit in a hot #geothermal bath is a very conducive place for reflection. As is common in other hot springs, an ideal hot spring experience is a controlled mental meltdown, when all the normal flotsam of the brain recedes, allowing the warmth of the moment and the #beauty of #nature seep slowly into one's core.
